Adults, Please Go Get Your Flu Shot!
According to a new survey from NORC, a research organization at the University of Chicago, more than 50% of US adults have not gotten a flu shot this season. This study is significant given the severity of last year's flu season.
NORC, which has conducted the National Immunization Survey for the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since 2005, found that only 43% of those surveyed (18 or older) had been vaccinated. Of those who had not been vaccinated, 14% who stated that they do intend to get vaccinated soon.
CDC urges adults to get vaccinated
The most important response to seasonal flu, according to the CDC, is for everyone 6 months or older to get vaccinated.
